Dear Bitcoin Community, It is time for us to let Multibit go. KeepKey acquired Multibit a little over 1 year ago.
- In order to see hidden folders, such as ~/Library from Finder, simply hit shift + ⌘ (command) + G which will GO to a folder, then paste in this location: ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin From there, you will see all the files associated with your wallet.

At the time, the engineers who originally built and supported Multibit had announced that they would no longer be working on it or providing support. Multibit played an important role in the Bitcoin infrastructure. The reality is that Multibit is in need of a lot of work. It has stubborn bugs that have caused us and Multibit users much grief. The addition of SegWit in the coming weeks will mean the Multibit software has fallen still further behind.
Unfortunately, KeepKey simply does not have the resources to support the current issues, nor to rebuild Multibit to ensure ideal user experience. By focusing our attention on the KeepKey device, we will continue building and improving the best hardware wallet available. Thus, KeepKey will discontinue support and maintenance of Multibit, effective immediately. We recommend that all Multibit users discontinue using it and you move your keys to other wallet software of your choosing. We wrote a describes some options of your options in more detail. Multibit was a fantastic piece of software in its time, and we want to thank the Multibit developers for such an important contribution to Bitcoin's history.

I’ve been using this as my primary wallet for BCH and BTC for some time. The other reviewer saying that sending BTC to this wallet will cause loss of funds is completely incorrect. The default wallets are created from the same seed phrase, so even if you accidentally send BTC to a BCH address (exceedingly difficult thanks to the wallet’s default use of the more modern CashAddress format for BCH), the funds will still be there safely in your BTC wallet.
There is a minor annoyance with the BTC wallet being hidden by default and the need to go to Settings to have it display on the main page, but the general improvement in UX and design flow is worth it, in my opinion. The wallet improves with every update. The new sending screen and the visual confirmation of receiving a payment (illustrated with a green checkmark) are both big improvements from the previous design.

Cryptoshi, This is a great bitcoin wallet, it supports both Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash This wallet is a great starter wallet for getting introduced to crypto currency. It easy to use, and actually works. You can create accounts for both BTC (Bitcoin Core) and BCH (Bitcoin Cash). I use it to manage both coins, because it’s simple to use. No blockchain to download, it just works.
This debate on which coin is the “Real Bitcoin” is ridiculous and should be left out of reviews for this wallet which lets you use both coins equally. This is not real bitcoin wallet The application gives an impression that it is a wallet for Bitcoin (BTC) while in real it is not, the application by defaults set another altcoin currency (BCH) for the user and as it is a fork of Bitcoin (BTC) user can be deceived into thinking this is real Bitcoin. Also sending any BTC to this new wallet will result in losing all the funds. Do not install this application if you are looking for Bitcoin (BTC) wallet. This is an alt coin (BCH) wallet.
UPDATE: Yes I recovered my Bitcoin. Thanks for the help but still I lost them because you say its a Bitcoin wallet while it is not by default. It is a BCH wallet which you can configure to use as real Bitcoin wallet. Thanks for the help though, I thought I have lost my BTC.
